First-time buyer boost with Proportunity

What was the situation?

A client approached us at the start of their property journey looking to purchase their first home. After an initial discussion, we determined they had raised a very healthy deposit through various sources. Knowing this, we quickly established how much they could look to borrow on their income and that they were well positioned to purchase a property.

What was the issue?

Through our earliest discussions, the client had also shown interest in properties they deemed out of their price range. In essence, they were correct because whilst their deposit was strong, their income became a limiting factor.

What was the process?

As a partner of Proportunity, a second charge lender who boosts purchasers deposit funds, we were able to explain and offer them a solution. After exploring what they could achieve with a Proportunity equity loan, the client was far more positive and quickly found a property that exceeded their expectations. Initially this would have been out of their budget, but this became a reality for them as the overall borrowing structure with Proportunity had now made this both affordable and suitable.

We took care of all the aspects of the mortgage, whilst making sure the client felt they had a trusted partner holding their hand throughout the purchase process.
